Animal Collection 

We operate a knackery facility for the collection and drop off of deceased cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys and goats etc. This provides an essential service to farmers across several counties including Offaly, Kildare, Meath, Westmeath, Laois and Kilkenny. This runs out of our two premises - our main factory in Ballyfore, Edenderry under Costelloe Animal Collection Services and also from our purpose built yard in Portlaois under Charlie Lawless Ltd. 

We have 4 specially equipped vehicles that provide collections for farmers on a daily basis. We also constantly update and upgrade our facilities in line with the requirements of the Department of Agriculture.

Through ongoing cooperation and collaboration, we have built up a strong relationship with the both local Department Veterinary Inspectors and their head office colleagues. We keep precise up to date records of all animals that are brought to both premises through our own computerised system. Through the knackery premises we facilitate Veterinary Inspectors in the testing and collection of samples from animal carcasses in order to prevent and assist in the early detection of bovine and ovine diseases.

Our facilities operate to the highest hygiene and environmental standards and in accordance with the most stringent regulations as laid out by the Department of Agriculture in Ireland. The premises are visited several times a week by Department personnel and we continually keep our facilities and operate at the highest level.

Our stringent record keeping and prompt collection and filing of appropriate paperwork assists both farmers and the Department in monitoring the movement of animal.
